The Walking Dead Blog Introduction: #1

 Hello my dear readers!

You are about to embark on a wondrous yet dark adventure that will take you farther and deeper into the world of The Walking Dead television series than anything else you have encountered.

For the duration of my blog I will focus on each of the characters, starting with the main characters and then branching out to the minor ones.

Rick Grimes travels into Atlanta in a desperate search for his wife and son.

For those of you wondering what The Walking Dead could be about, it is about a group of people fighting to survive a zombie apocalypse... Surprise! I bet that one was a total shocker.

Before I begin creating blogs about each character, it would be a good idea for you to know the plot summary of the show.

Continue reading for a detailed explanation to help you get caught up.

When a County Sheriff by the name of Rick Grimes gets shot, he enters a comatose state. Weeks later, he wakes up and finds himself completely alone; the hospital is seemingly empty, quiet as a graveyard. Rick soon discovers that things are not as they once were.

Rick thinks he is alone as he explores the hospital...
An epidemic of apocalyptic proportions has swept the globe, causing the dead to rise and feed on the living. In a matter of months, society has crumbled: There is no government, there are no grocery stores, no mail delivery, no cable TV. Normality is gone, only chaos remains.

Rick wants nothing else but to find his wife and son, Lori and Carl. He decides to head towards Atlanta, a supposed safe zone from the zombies, to search for his family.

Upon arriving in Atlanta, Rick discovers that the city has been overrun. Caught in the web of streets, surrounded on all sides by zombies, he narrowly escapes dying. Rick is rescued by another survivor named Glenn. Glenn takes him to a camp outside of town where he and other survivors are staying.

It is there that Rick finally finds Lori and Carl, as well as his best friend and work partner, Shane.

Rick and his family stay with the group, and together they fend off the unending zombie onslaught and compete with other survivors for food and shelter.
These are just a few of the characters you will meet (from left to right): Lori, Carl, Daryl, Carol, T-Dog, Beth, Herschel, Rick, Maggie, Glenn, and The Governor.
,

These are desperate times. Without the structure of society to keep them in line, people will be forced to do things that they never knew they could do, to keep themselves and their loved ones alive.

The plot is focused primarily on the dilemmas the group faces as they struggle to retain their humanity while fighting to survive the zombie hordes, and later, how they cope with members being killed and deal with other human survivors they encounter.

The Walking Dead is a unique show that makes you question how far you yourself would go to stay alive if this terrible fantasy came to life.

  1. I don't watch The Walking Dead, but this post makes it look pretty awesome! Definitely looks action packed, but I don't know if I could deal with the possibility of character I really like dying every week. I love how you ended the post with the statement about how the show makes you question how far you would go to stay alive, really makes you think. It's also really cool how you not only posted pictures, but links to videos so the reader can be engaged by different forms of media. Keep up the great work!

  2. Your summary was straight forward and easy to follow, I appreciate that you took the time to summarize the plot in your own words. Also, it's interesting that you can come up with themes that are relatable in a show about a zombie apocalypse.
